Depression

Depression is a mood disorder characterized by a constants feelings of sadness, depression, or feeling down with a loss of interest or pleasure in things. These feelings interfere with your function in multiple areas of your life. Depression is often left untreated although most people with this illness can get better with treatment.

The Patient Health Questionnaire(PHQ-9) is self-administered screening tool developed and used by Health care professional to help recognize symptoms of depression in order to assist with diagnosis and treatment. The PHQ-9 screening does not diagnose depression. This can only be done by a Primary Care Physician or other health professional. Completing the PHQ-9 can be used as a starting place if you have not been feeling like yourself.
